welcome to Louvain Burn Music & Arts Festival

An Authentic Garden Route Gathering.

Hidden deep in a Lush Forest Valley of the Outeniqua mountains lies a little secret of the Langkloof Valley. Rolling mountains and expansive horizons lead you into Louvain, a place of pure nature, fresh air and clean drinking water. An Oasis filled with a welcoming community of good vibes, radical inclusion and respect.

Louvain Burn Music & Arts Festival is a Bi-annual event where like-minded individuals gather to co-create, dance and celebrate the ancient tradition of ceremonial burning. It is here where we may appreciate Singer/Songwriters, Artists, Creators and where friends become family to satisfy our innate desire for Community. We're an intimate Boutique Music Festival Experience in the Garden Route, South Africa, providing a platform for artists and musicians to express their offering within a conscious environment that offers attention and mutual respect between performer and audience focusing on the quality of sound, space and food.  All genres of music are appreciated and we curate both live acoustic singer songwriter performances with electronic music producers and dj's of organic house and bass music.

what our festival guests have to say

Where friends become family to satisfy our innate desire for community.

An incredible experience with the fine folk of the Garden Route. Louvain Burn served a beautiful reminder of community, celebration, diversity, and mutual love and respect.

- Badyn Holesgrove (Jan 24')

Golden Glow. Music, dancing, interesting and interested colorful humans, slick AF, mind blowing artists and artwork, massive crystal clear sound.

Louvain Burn Music & Arts Festival. Morne Jonker you truly are a legend, baiefokkendankie. Clinton Jonker and crew, masterful event. Top draw in every respect. A one of a kind Worldclass event. Big love

- Ray Nolan (Aug 23')
For those of you who might not be familiar, Louvain Burn Music & Arts Festival is a special gathering of different kinds of artists and musicians - both local and from afar - that come together for a weekend to share their love for art and music.
There's this big beautiful stage that hosts a lineup of such a variety of different types of incredible musicians - each with their own special unique talents and stories to share. ❤️
The setting is truly beautiful 💚 Situated in the Outeniqua Mountains in Langkloof Valley, Louvain Burn takes place in a little forest (the big "burn" itself is a bit of a walk away from the main happenings, but this truly adds to the buildup when its time to "Light Up" 🔥)
So... its set in this pretty little forest, there's a variety of incredible music playing, there are dogs running around, kids playing, there's a little dam where you can swim, you camp under the trees and it all just feels happy and paradisical 🥰
It's pretty, the people are pretty cool and it's quite a pretty experience 💚
This will be my fourth time taking part and I look forward to seeing what's in store for this round ... and I also look forward to seeing all the all those wonderful familiar faces again 🥰

- Stretch ( Lauren Smith) (Jan 24')
I want to thank the organisers and creative souls presenting their forms of expressive art and that included good yummy food, for a beautiful, creative and soul strengthening experience. I had to leave early...but spent enough hours to be convinced African Mermaid will be back if they will have us .
It was awesome unforgettable and when can I book for the next one ? Love to all
💛❤️💚🌈

We are so happy we could finally get to visit and totally enjoy... The welcoming hosts Morne and team Clinton Jonker ,what a setup and everyone else involved. The live music was phenomenal as well as the dj's. We got to stay for the burn and watch the flames lick the sky about 30 metres high. Before leaving we managed to get some pics of the beautiful wedding chapel built in austere simplicity. The entire Louvain experience was magical. Thank you to everyone who made it possible!!! Louvain Burn Music & Arts Festival love love love ❤️

Morné Jonker (Co-Founder & Logistics)

The pandemic reminded us how important it is for people to get outdoors, relax and spend time in nature swimming, hiking, horse-riding and camping, but i wanted the focus to be on relaxation, reconnection, and generally having a good time engaging with good music.

Clinton Jonker (Co-Founder & Production)

The philosophy for Louvain Burn is 'Where friends become family to satisfy our innate desire for community' and guests are left with exactly that. The curation of music follows genres of gentle acoustic singer songwriter by day flowing into deep soulful desert house and drum & bass into the evenings. We cater for Vegan and vegetarain and are family friendly. The venue is absolutely exquisite set in a forest on the foothills of the Outenique Mountains less than an hours drive from George in the Western Cape. Louvain Burn is a gathering of love and the freedom to have fun and express yourself in a non-judgmental space while still within a family orientated environment. The Garden Route needed a live music festival where children could safely attend and be inspired by music and arts.
